By verdict of April 9th 2024, the court of Amsterdam has declared the bankruptcy of The Next Closet B.V. (“TNC”) with the appointment of mr. R.T. Mets as the bankruptcy trustee.
A bankruptcy trustee is appointed to take control of the assets of the bankrupt company. He manages and sells these assets for the benefit of creditors. The bankruptcy trustee is currently exploring the possibilities of a (partial) restart by selling (parts of) TNC's assets. As of today, purchases and sales on TNC’s website will no longer be possible.
- I have not yet received the products I ordered (and paid for). What should I do?
- I want to return previously (before the date of the bankruptcy) purchased products. Is that possible?
- One or several of my items are currently offered on TNC's website. What should I do?
I have not yet received the products I ordered (and paid for). What should I do?
The bankruptcy trustee will verify whether each product was shipped before the date of the company's bankruptcy or can still be delivered. If a product cannot be delivered, the sale will be cancelled by The Next Closet B.V. The bankruptcy trustee will then attempt to return the amount held by the payment provider on behalf of the buyer to the buyer. The bankruptcy trustee has requested the payment service provider to cooperate with the cancellation and the reimbursement.
In the event that reimbursement is not possible or not possible for the entire amount, you are requested to submit your (remaining) claim for verification in the bankruptcy of The Next Closet B.V.
You can submit your claim for verification at www.claimsagent.nl. This website has been specially designed for receivers and creditors of insolvent companies. Through this website, the bankruptcy trustee can obtain all relevant information and communicate with creditors. You are kindly requested to support your claim with (copies of) invoices and/or proof of payment.
For the record, please note that entitlement to any distribution will only exist if the claim has been submitted for verification. You can submit your claim no later than 14 days before the verification meeting. A date for a verification meeting will be set if a distribution is to be expected to unsecured creditors. As soon as it is known whether and when a meeting of creditors will be held, those who have submitted their claims via www.claimsagent.nl will be notified. If you do not submit your claim 14 days before the meeting, your claim will not be considered. Claims arising after the date of the bankruptcy will in principle not be eligible for verification.
I want to return previously (before the date of the bankruptcy) purchased products. Is that possible?
No, any new returns will not be processed.
One or several of my items are currently offered on TNC's website. What should I do?
Although your item(s) may still be visible on our website, it will no longer be possible to be bought/sold. You do not need to take any action.
